Victoria & Brantley – Johnston Canyon Engagement

We woke up early and headed out to Johnston Canyon for Victoria & Brantley’s engagement session. They brought along their sweet pup Mira – they rescued her from a pretty rough situation, but now she’s living the life heading out on hikes with her loving family. Even though we were unable to get to the “secret spot” because of high water levels, this session was so much fun exploring Johnston Canyon before all the crowds got there.

How did you meet?

At the gym…he was my trainer (scandalous!) and I asked him out. I went at the same time as my parents so I never wanted to ask in person. I ended up Facebook stalking him not knowing he rarely checked it. As I was about to turn off on my phone for a flight to China (no Facebook for 3 weeks!) he replied with a yes! Then I had to wait 3 weeks before I could talk to him again haha.

Engagement story:

We wanted to do a hike for our 3 year dating anniversary. Brantley picked Heart Mountain and I didn’t really think much of it other than it was our anniversary (a few days after by the time we got to the hike). We ended up missing a marker and going so far out of the way on scree before finally going back down and finding where we should’ve gone. Honestly, I was in a pretty bad mood since the hike had already taken way longer than we expected and I had not prepared. At the top, however, the view and the fact that we were there made everything better. Brantley found a geocache with a notepad and told me not to write in it yet. Then he popped the question!
