We were so excited to be a part of Roisin & Hunter’s Canmore Nordic Centre wedding. Their love story is something out of a fairytale – she’s from the UK, he’s from Canada, they met each other while they were working in Disneyland – talk about the start of a fairytale! They also looove dogs – our kind of people!
Below is just a sample of their day, to view the entire gallery click here.

Wedding theme and colours (explain the reason behind your decision):
We went for a rustic feel paired with lots of greenery because we love being out in nature. For the bridesmaids dresses and groomsmen’s ties we chose a dusky blue because we just loved the colour and thought they would compliment the scenery.
Approximate number of wedding guests:
60
Your top 3 best moments and why:
Hunter: Seeing Roisin walk down the aisle. The moment I saw her all my nerves went away and I felt that my entire life had been leading up to that moment. I couldn’t believe that I could be so lucky to have someone like her.
Roisin: Walking back down the aisle together after getting married was the best feeling ever! Knowing we were married and having that feeling was just so surreal- it was pure happiness, excitement & relief that everything went well!
Both: The party after all the wedding stuff was done! We loved just being able to finally relax and celebrate with our family and friends. It was the first time we had seen some of them for over a year. What a way to have a reunion!
Wedding song, explain choice for song:
We chose ‘Die a Happy Man’ by Thomas Rhett because it’s all about not worrying about what you do or end up having in life as long as you are with that special person. It resonates a lot with us because meeting each other changed both of our plans for the future and neither of us care about the materialistic things anymore. As long as we have each other that’s all we care about.
Your top 3 favorite wedding details (cake, flowers, dress, band, etc.) and why:
1) We loved that we were able to incorporate our Golden Retriever, Bear, into our day! We had him walk down the aisle, as a hidden detail on the back of our cake, on our favours (beer koozies) and we even had ‘Bear’s biscuit bar’ where our guests could take home doggie bags for their dogs!
2) All the Disney touches we had at our wedding! After meeting in Walt Disney World we just had to incorporate Disney into our wedding! Our tables were named after the places the Disney couples met and we had lanterns with the silhouettes from those films on our centrepieces. Hunter’s cufflinks were based on the grape soda badge from UP! and we also had a Disney themed photo booth which had the Purple Wall (a Instagram famous wall in Disney World) as the backdrop!
3) Our Guest Book. Nella who did our signage also made our guest book and we just love how it came out! We had a Polaroid guestbook and we loved looking through the photos and messages! It’s such a precious keepsake from the day.
Any advice to those that are planning their wedding?
Don’t let others influence your decisions too much! I spent most of the planning worried about what everyone else wanted and taking on everyone else’s opinions. You need to remember that you can’t please everyone and it’s your wedding and you need to do it your way!
Honeymoon:
We are going to Hawaii. Spending the first night in Turtle Bay Resort before heading to Disney’s Aulani Resort for a few nights and then heading off on a 10 night Disney Cruise around Hawaii and back to Vancouver! Of course it had to be a Disneymoon!
