We woke up early and headed to the mountains for Nicole & Mike’s Lake Minnewanka engagement session – and it was so worth it! The light was beautiful coming through just a little bit of fog, and best of all – hardly any tourists at this time.
The below is just a sample of their day, to see the whole gallery click here.
From the couple:
How did you meet?
How we met…
A little unconventional but oh so right for us. We swiped right and it was love at first sight. Okay – maybe not at first sight. Our first date was at a local coffee shop around the corner from Nicole’s apartment on September 9th. Mike spoke the entire two hours and Nicole politely smiled and nodded wondering if she would ever get a word in. The first date was cut short as Mike had prior arrangements. But Nicole knew she must see this talkative man sooner than later.
The second date was again over coffee… surprise! It was love at second sight!
Many adventures have happened since that cool fall first date. Many cups of coffee have been consumed as well! But if we know anything, it is that we were meant to do this thing called life, hand in hand.
Engagement story:
The Proposal…
It may come as a surprise to all of you, but it was difficult for Mike to surprise Nicole. The morning of December 3rd, Nicole woke up at 5AM with a terrible coughing episode. In a half awake stagger, Nicole went to the kitchen to get water but as she was not wearing her glasses, she could see nothing. Mike woke up quickly after and insisted on having coffee in bed and to watch a movie. Weird, as it was 5AM on a Sunday, and Mike doesn’t do much before 11AM. But okay – that’s what we did!
After the movie had concluded, Nicole went to fill her cup with more coffee, turned on the lights to the kitchen and walked into a beautiful display of 7 cards hanging from twine on the wall. Each card was written with loving words and with the final 7th card reading “Will you marry me?” UM HECK YES I WILL!

Beautiful photos! Beautiful couple! Beautiful love story! Love you both!❤️❤️❤️
