From the Couple
Wedding theme and colours:
We were going for simple and soft lighting, but didn’t really have a theme per se. With the wedding being in the mountains, we wanted to accent the natural beauty that was already out there, that’s why we decided on greens, navy and white.
Approximate number of wedding guests:
101
Your top 3 best moments and why:
1. Both Brad and Sheila’s favourite moment was when Sheila was walking down the aisle. Brad definitely wasn’t crying, it was the rain of course. We were both pretty happy the clouds cleared up a little just in time for the ceremony!
2. Riding down the chairlift together was amazing as well. It was so nice and peaceful to have the 20 minute ride just the two of us, and giggling about finally calling each other husband and wife. The view was stunning!
3. Our first dance. We didn’t get around to practicing at all, but we think we did a pretty decent job of winging it!
Wedding song, explain choice for song:
Stand by Me- John Lennon. We love this version because it’s upbeat and fun. There was no real significance behind the song, we both simply enjoy it.
Any advice to those that are planning their wedding?
Surely you’ve heard this many times before, but it can’t be stressed enough how important it is to go with the flow. We had ALOT of hiccups- numbers of guests permitted, reception location, weather and a handful of other things.
Taking a moment just the two of you is also key. You’re so busy trying to catch up with all the guests, organizing, coordinating, being mindful of the schedule… those few moments alone are quite precious.
Honeymoon:
We went to Jasper for a week and had a blast! We went hiking, biking, canoeing, eating ALOT and even a spa day.
