Wedding theme and colours (explain the reason behind your decision):
We chose a classic and traditional winter wedding. Our colours were navy, gray, white and fuchsia accents.
Approximate number of wedding guests:
170
Your top 3 best moments and why:
Walking down the aisle with my parents towards my husband and his family. It’s a once in a lifetime moment to share with the people you love most! I was surprisingly not nervous 😊
We loved it when we walked out of the church and to our surprise, the church bells rang. We hadn’t even considered that this would happen. It was very awesome!
We loved being able to talk to our family and friends after the reception. It’s amazing to have all the people you love in one room!
Wedding song, explain choice for song:
We changed our wedding song last minute to “Let Me Down Easy” by Billy Currington. We wanted a heartfelt and romantic song that had a country sound to it. This song brought us back to when we first fell in love.
Your top 3 favorite wedding details (cake, flowers, dress, band, etc.) and why:
We loved our cake: my dad built the stand which looked amazing and the simplicity of nude with the sugar flowers my sister had made looked gorgeous.
We loved the flowers, they really gave the feel of a winter wedding and class. A close family friend made all of them!
Our signature cocktail was a hit. “The Chmelibration” was in honour of the Chmelik family name. It also had a great cheery look to it!
Any advice to those that are planning their wedding?
Plan ahead so that when the week of the wedding arrives, you can relax and enjoy the whole experience as it will go by quickly. Ask friends and family for help, many of them are talented and have useful skills and are willing to help out. Enjoy the planning together! A wedding is a day, a marriage is for life, so focus on the important things!
Honeymoon:
Well, we will be going to Las Vegas for a quick getaway in January. By summertime, we are planning to be traveling somewhere in between Czech Republic and Italy!
