We had so much fun at Ivangie’s Photo Studio with Joanie and Rick during the engagement session. The sun was just getting to that golden hour point, it was such a beautiful evening out.

From the Couple
How did you meet?
At work. Our 2 companies merged, and so did we! The first time I saw Rick, I thought to myself oh no, this could be trouble just because of the positions we both held. It was almost 2 months later before we actually had a conversation and the rest is history!
Tell us your engagement story.
We went to Cuba in July and met a couple from Germany. We had so much fun with them that within a week of being home from Cuba we were looking into trips to Germany for Oktoberfest that fall. We booked a 6 day trip – 4 days spent in Munich and 2 days of traveling. We arrived Friday mid-morning and explored the area around our Air BnB and then made our way to Oktoberfest that evening. We had plans to meet our friends the next day down at Marienplatz and then make our way over to Oktoberfest. That morning we awoke, and started getting ready in our traditional Oktoberfest attire. Rick was ready in record time and I went at my usual leisurely pace in the mornings. He was adamant that we needed to get downtown and meet our friends by noon. I insisted we stop for breakfast and a huge German Department store we stumbled upon for some shopping. Once we arrived at Marienplatz, we made our way over to St Peters Church, the oldest Cathedral in the city. I wanted to look around the Cathedral, but they had plans for us to climb up to the top viewing platform for some of the best views of the city. After a bit of a steep climb up 306 stairs, we were at the top. I was over in one corner completely mesmerized and snapping pics away when I heard Rick behind me say “Babe”. I turned around and he was standing there with the ring box open asking me to spend the rest of my life with him. We were standing on metal grating, so we made sure to take extra caution getting the ring out and putting it on to my finger. After many hugs and kisses we had some celebratory beers that our friends had snuck up with them. As they were in on the secret, they were able to video and photograph the entire moment. These pictures and videos will forever be treasured. When I asked Rick how he came up with the idea to propose at St.Peter’s church he said that since we can’t get married in a church, he thought he would propose at one.
