FAQ
When it comes to booking a wedding photographer or a family photo session, we know that you may have a few questions – we encourage it! Here’s a list of common questions – but of course, if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!
What’s required to book a wedding or a session?
All sessions require a 25% retainer which comes off the total amount of your session.
How long will it take for my images to be delivered?
On average for a wedding it’ll be 8 weeks, and a lifestyle session will be 3 weeks.
We see that you’re based in Sherwood Park, but do you travel?
Yes for sure! We love to. We do weddings everywhere in Alberta. For travel elsewhere, contact us for a custom quote.
Are you insured?
Yes we are. If your venue needs a copy of it just let us know.
Do we have to do an engagement session?
With our wedding packages, the engagement session is a gift from us to you. They allow for us to get to know you as a couple, and you get to see our process. It’ll help you feel more relaxed in front of the camera on the day of your wedding.
When should we do our engagement session?
This is entirely up to you – but here’s a few things to consider. Do you want to use your photos for Save the Dates or invitations? Do you want any printed for the wedding day – like a display table, or a canvas, or for your guestbook? Don’t worry though! Let us know what your goal is, and we’ll help you plan.
I’m nervous and not photogenic, what do you suggest?
Trust us when we say there’s nothing to be nervous about. Our style is to document your natural emotions and presence. We do this through some prompts that will allow you to be yourself and relax.
How far ahead should we book?
The sooner the better to ensure your date is available. We have booked weddings within just a couple months of their date to a couple years in advance – it’s really just the luck of the draw.
How much time do we need for photos on our wedding day?
There’s a lot to this question, and it depends on your day. We are always happy to discuss timelines with you and help you plan your day. As a starting point you can check out a blog post we wrote about this by clicking here.
Can we hire just one person?
All of our wedding packages come with 2 photographers. We are a husband and wife team. There’s a lot of work that goes into your day, and we believe that there should always be at least two people working for your day. Here’s a blog post that explains it in more detail.
Do I get all of my photos? And the unedited ones?
No – and you wouldn’t want them! We go through all of the photos and make sure we tell your story in the best way possible. We don’t give out unedited photos simply because that’s not a representation of our work – you wouldn’t go to a restaurant and ask for all the ingredients in a meal and go home with it, would you? Haha.
Can you Photoshop my arms to look skinnier? Make my lipstick a different color? Etc.
This really isn’t our style. We want natural moments – trust us when we say you are beautiful as is. Remember the day as it was. Your friends and family love you for who you are – not whether or not you have the most toned arms, or the perfect shade of lipstick. Yes we edit our photos – but not in this way. If once you get your photos back, and there’s something that truly bothers you that can be fixed by Photoshop we can edit it at our retouching fees.
Have more questions? No problem! Ask away! We’d love to hear from you.
