Wedding theme and colours (explain the reason behind your decision):
The only real theme we had was that we wanted greenery everywhere. Chelsea loves plants (but cant keep them alive) so we wanted to put them all over the place! That’s why we gave all of our guests little succulent favours to take home. Our entire day was meant to be natural, relaxed and chill.
Approximate number of wedding guests:
80
Your top 3 best moments and why:
Seeing each other for the first time was number one for both of us. We were both so nervous but as soon as we were up there together all of our nerves went away.
Reading our personal vows was also great. It was so nice to share our relationship with our friends and family that traveled so far to be with us and make that personal commitment to each other with them all with us.
Getting ready was also probably a favourite moment. The anticipation of it all was a feeling that won’t be forgotten anytime soon! We also loved the fact that Chelsea got to ride to the wedding in her dads Torino – it was a very special moment.
Wedding song, explain choice for song:
Our song was Close your eyes – Michael Buble.
We chose the song because the words suit us to a tee, but it’s not super sappy (something neither of us love). To us, its all about how one person compliments the other and we thought that was important. Also, you can’t go wrong with Michael Buble, you just can’t!
Your top 3 favorite wedding details (cake, flowers, dress, band, etc.) and why:
The little succulent wedding favours, from the Plant Place in Cochrane, were definitely a favourite. They were beautiful and unique!
The wedding dress was also a favourite – I don’t think I’ll ever wear something that sparkly ever again, but I loved every second I got to!
Our homemade word search. My sister helped paint that by hand (which took so long and was so hard!) but I think it was a fun little detail.
Any advice to those that are planning their wedding?
The little things don’t matter as much as you think they do! What’s important is the two of you and the celebration of your love! I spent so many time pining over little things, that in the end, just didn’t make a difference. Also, the day itself flies by. Everyone says that, but It’s so true! Take moments for yourself to remember why you’re getting married and take in the day.
Honeymoon:
We’re going to do a delayed honeymoon, likely to Florida and Disney!
