These two braved the cold for their Jasper Engagement session – seriously, there were extreme cold warnings at the time! It was absolutely freezing, but they were still just all smiles. Brittanee and Shawn have been together for 11 years, and we just couldn’t be more excited for them!

How did you meet?
Shawn and I met in high school. I saw him around and we had similar friends, then our friends’ circle got really close and we ended up hanging out all the time. Then my 17th birthday came around and he had this super fun party at his house for my birthday I remember and he asked me out the next day or something but I was too scared and recently single so I said no and about 1 month later I realized what I just said no to, omg the most amazing person in this world and I texted him up (so high school haha) and asked him if still wanted to go out with me and he yes he was waiting for me. That was May 26/2008 and we ended up going to my grad together in 2009. And the last 11 years are history lol!!!
Tell us your engagement story
Ooo my gosh this gives me the hugest smile. We were spending the night at the Jasper Fairmont Park Lodge the most magical place to celebrate my dads 1 year death anniversary and relax get away from it all. That’s just why we did!! We checked in early in the morning and started our day out with outside adventures and a picnic lunch. Then he took me over to the skating rink made on the lake with the mountain view in the background. As we took our wobbly skating legs to the ice I was looking down at all the cracks and bubbles just laughing and he just skated wayyy ahead and starting to race so I was just taking my time enjoying looking down and I look up and he was sitting behind the snow bank. I was thinking ok, stop have some water or something. Then I get closer and he gets up and goes onto his one knee and he’s holding this beautiful box with something flashy inside, holy f is this it?! and I see these watery eyes. Will you marry me?! I was seriously speechless, I think I kept saying what?! And then I heard him say, can you just say yes?! Hahaha omg I didn’t even think about an answer I was just stunned. The adrenaline was true love drunk and then I burst into tears and scream YES! I don’t even remember taking my skates off I don’t even think we finished one lap, now looking back he probably was so nervous he couldn’t even wait!! We soaked in the lodges hot tub and supper and love music after and celebrated the night away together!! All smiles!! This is the same place where my parents got married in 2006!!
